Cricketers and Bollywood divas with a connection!
A couple receives a lot of glare from the media if they belong to the film fraternity. However, Bollywood divas dating stars of the cricketing world have also been a common sight. This pairing too forms a magnetic couple that the media cannot get enough of. Both the parties find themselves in a situation where they are surrounded with money, fame and idolization which makes it all the more conducive for them hit it off. Let us enlist some of these couples who were the talk of the town.
Rohit Sharma and Sofiya Hayat- The two were spotted together and this was enough to set the gossip mills running. When queried about their relationship status, all that one could gather was that they are close friends.
Anju Mahendru and Gary Sobers- Anju Mahendru is a well-known television actress. She has also acted in a few Bollywood films. She had an affair with the cricketing legend Garfield Sobers. They were an item in the 1960s. They even got engaged at one point however that did not culminate into their marriage.
Mohd. Asif and Veena Malik- People got to know about the trivia of their affair at the wake of Mohd. Asif’s match-fixing scandal. They dated for about a year and a half. On the reality show Bigg Boss Veena Malik also shared some of the personal details of her bond with Asif.
Yuvraj Singh and Kim Sharma- Yuvraj Singh had a steady relationship with Kim Sharma. It was not hidden from the media. They both looked pretty serious about each other, but the relationship did not survive more than four years. After Kim, Yuvi’s name has been linked to an endless list of hotties from the showbiz. His name was linked to Deepika Padukone, Ameesha Patel, and the list goes on. He was also linked to Preity Zinta during the IPL however, that completely seems like a rumour.
Saurav Ganguly and Nagma- The Prince of Kolkata seems like a happily married man now. However he too had his share of link-ups. The one that happened after his marriage was with Nagma. Since he was married the news spread like fire. However, none ever spoke about it openly. When questioned, the ex-skipper said “no comments” for an answer.
Sreesanth- Sreesanth has not been known for his bowling figures as much for his link-ups. He had the chance of getting linked to actress Priyanka Chopra. He was also rumoured to be spending ‘quality time’ with Minissha Lamba in Macau during the IIFA Awards.
Usman Afzal and Amrita Arora- Amrita Arora and Usman had been very vocal about their relationship. She had a long distance relationship with him for 4 years before settling down with Shakeel Ladak.
Zaheer Khan and Isha Shervani- Zaheer is one of the very few cricketers who have been linked only to one actress. She is none other than Isha Shervani who debuted with “Kisna”. There was news of their break-up but in 2011 it was reported that they had patched- up. It is being speculated, that they are planning to tie the knot.
Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra- The names of these two celebrities have been linked for too long now. They never broke their silence on their relationship status, but it is now being claimed that the two have split as Harbhajan did not want to settle down before 2-3 years.
Mohammad Azzarudin and Sangeeta Bijlani- Mohd. Azzarudin made it to the headlines when he hooked up with Sangeeta Bijlani, the ex-flame of actor Salman Khan. They even tied the knot in the year 1996.
