Is Rs 26 crore, too much to ask for a film?
Sources say the whopping amount pegged for Sudhir Mishra's period film starring Chitrangada Singh is turning away buyers
Looks like Sudhir Mishra's upcoming film starring his protege Chitrangada Singh, Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor may be in a bit of a soup. After already suffering from major delays, thanks to Big B's ill health and Kapoor's hectic shoot schedules, the film might have a long way to go before going on the floors. Insiders say the project, pegged at Rs 26 crore, apparently has no buyers.
Industry insiders feel that the whopping amount for a period film is what is posing to be a problem for Sudhir to find backers.
A source says, `To raise such kind of money is going to be quite difficult for the makers. Earlier it was also rumoured that Bachchan's production company will co-produce the film but there has been no confirmation on it.`

Initially Nikhil Advani and Vivek Rangachari (who co-produced D-Day) were going to jointly finance the film but now have bowed out of the project.
Monisha Advani, Nikhil's business partner states, `The film has been conceived and co-written by Sudhir Mishra and Nikhil supported by other writers. Initially it was part of our schedule. However due to commitment delays, we amicably opted out of it and continue to informally and morally support Sudhir and his team.`
