After battling it out with 19 contestants, Gauhar Khan has emerged as the winner ofBigg Boss 7. We caught up with the gal and asked about her journey inside the glass walled house, boyfriend Kushal Tandon and much more. Here is what she had to say…

Who would you want to dedicate your win?

I would like to dedicate my win to each and every person who voted for me and who gave me a lot of love. I won’t call them fans, rather I would call them loved ones because they have made me win with love. So I dedicate this win to all those people who wanted me to win.And most importantly I would like to thank God because it wouldn’t have been possible if he didn’t wrote this in my life.

Did you expect to win Bigg Boss 7?

I used to tell myself that I want to win because I feel that it won’t happen if you do not want it to happen. I used to tell Allah everyday that I want to win. So I wanted to win, but I didn’t expect to win. There is a difference between the two. If I didn’t wanted to win, I wouldn’t have been in the show,hai na?

So you are shocked?

Yes, I am shocked. It was between me and Tanishaa (Mukherji) in the end and no doubt she was a very strong contender. And when I saw legend Tanujaji (Tansihaa’s mother and veteran actor) in the crowd, I thought that I won’t win. It was the biggest prize for me to see Tanujaji sitting there. But God wanted this and it happened.

What according to you were your qualities that made you the winner?

I was just trying to be myself on the show and I was not at all fake. Whatever you saw of me on the show is the way I am in real life as well. But I received a lot of flak about my me being very vocal, but that’s me. I can’t control myself. If I have an opinion on something, I will say it out. So yeah, people maybe loved these qualities of me and made me win.

What do you think went wrong for Tanishaa? Why according to you she lost?

(Grins) Because people voted for me and not for her. But everyone had their won journey in the house, so I can’t really say anything. Maybe people liked my journey and they voted for me.

You also fell in love in the house…

Yes, I think people loved that also. Because people do get attracted with each other while they are on the show, but maybe it’s because of media and everything that they do not openly confess about it…

Are you referring to Tanishaa and Armaan here?

No. I am talking about previous seasons where we saw a good chemistry between lot of people, but those people never really confessed it openly. I had feelings for Kushal (Tandon) and he had feelings for me, so we openly confessed it on the national television. So maybe people liked that honesty. and whatever is there between Kushal and me is real.

As you said we have seen people falling in love with each other on the show, but as soon as they come out, their relationship doesn’t last outside the house? Will you and Kushal create history?

Inshallah. I hope we take it to another level.

Do you think your family will accept Kushal?

I don’t think there will be much problem. Kushal is a very good person and we have understood each other. So our families will also understand us. I have just stepped out of the house, so I want to discover him in a different way and he wants to discover me in a different way.

We have seen people using the love card in Bigg Boss to go ahead in the game and a lot of people have been saying that all that between you and Kushal was a strategy…

You know love is a thing on which you cannot play a game. My relationship with Kushal is what it is. I am not going to camouflage it or lie about it outside the Bigg Boss house. This might be the speculation in the outside world and I respect that because I know we are on a show where we will be judged.

There were also bathroom scenes, where we used to see that you both used to the washroom and talk…

Yes, that was my call. Because we had a lot of fights in the last few days we were together in the house. So I didn’t wanted to look bad and I didn’t wanted him to look bad. And he was already being told that he gets angry a lot so I didn’t wanted people to say the same thing about me. So that’s the reason we used to go the washroom and talk in actions. I never removed my mic because that’s against the rules of the house, so that’s why we used to talk in actions.

Salman Khan constantly used to take whips on Kushal and sometimes on you as well. Do you think he was biased? Because his fairness as a host was in question…

He was not biased. It’s just that whenever he used to say something wrong, I used to tell him that you are not listening to me, but he on the other hand used to tell me that I am not listening to him which was actually true because I love giving opinions. He is hosting a show and he is doing a fantastic job and I don’t think anyone else except him can host Bigg Boss. Yes, you are inside the house and you feel bad sometimes, that’s it

New Delhi: If there was one character from a book that Amitabh Bachchan would love to bring alive on screen, it would be his father's role from his autobiography, "In the Afternoon of Time: An Autobiography"

During an open question-and-answer session at the Penguin Annual Lecture 2013 in the capital recently, an enthusiastic fan out of an audience of almost a thousand asked Big B to pick one of his beloved characters that he'd like to play in a film.

He gave it a thought, and said: "Maybe I'd like to play the role that my father played in his autobiography."

You mean you want to play Harivansh Rai Bachchan, asked the startled host, Rajdeep Sardesai.

To that, Big B smiled and said: "It's a tough call, but I want to try."

Amitabh has often shared anecdotes of his celebrated father and it was no different at the event.

He talked about some of his conversations with his father - in his childhood, during his youth and of those that Amitabh shared with Harivansh Rai during his last days in 2003.

Harivansh Rai, who died in 2003, is credited with works like 'Madhushala', 'Madhukalash', 'Madhubala' and 'Agneepath'.

Amitabh said his father once told him he was his "greatest poetry".

But "I do not know whether I am a free verse or a couplet, a chaupai or a shloka."

"I wish I had asked. Now it is too late," he lamented even as he proudly recited some verses from his father's 'Madhushala' in his distinct baritone at the behest of the audience.

What followed obviously was loud applause.

Mumbai: Chitrangda Singh is excited to share the screen space with Amitabh Bachchan in the upcoming film 'Pehle Aap Janab', which was earlier titled as 'Mehrunissa'.

The 37-year-old model-actress, who will start shooting the film in January, said it is a dream come true to star opposite her screen idol.

"Amitabh Bachchan is timeless. He is my screen idol since childhood. I am extremely excited and looking forward to work with him in 'Pehle Aap Janab'. We will start shooting the film in January," Chitrangda told us.

For 'Pehle Aap Janab', Chitrangda is again teaming up with her mentor Sudhir Mishra, The duo have worked together on 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi', 'Yeh Saali Zindagi' and 'Inkaar' in the past. The actress calls him a "genius of improvisation".

"His scripts are very different from the end results. He is one person whose characters in the films have loads of interesting realities attached to them. His character has honesty and most importantly he always portrays women in a powerful light in his films," she said.

Mishra's last release 'Inkaar' dealt with sexual harassment faced by women in corporate set-up. Asked what she feels about Tarun Tejpal issue, she said, "I don't know what exactly happened in Tarun Tejpal's case. I just want to say that whenever there is a powerplay by men there will always be issues like sexual harassment."

New Delhi: Salman Khan is a hit among the masses and will take to a single screen theatre in New Delhi to launch the trailer of his forthcoming movie 'Jai Ho' in their company.

Rather than taking the usual route of organising a press meet for the trailer launch, Salman will unveil the look of the movie in the presence of his fans at the Chandan single screen theatre Thursday, said a statement.

A spokesperson for the film said: "Salman Khan wants people to be there at the launch of the trailer."

This way, the actor will get a chance to watch the live reaction of the audience and he will also interact with his fans and the media present there later.

Directed by Sohail Khan, 'Jai Ho' also features Tabu and Om Puri.

It is slated to release on January 24, 2014.

New Delhi: In a career of almost 25 years, Aamir Khan has seen successes and flops. But it is his failures that he credits for his life's "biggest learnings", saying that it doesn't matter to him if his films make Rs.100 crore or more but he gets "upset" if people lose money from a film which rides on his name.

"There are a lot of films I did that didn't make me happy, but it is also true that you don't always get success despite all efforts. When I look back and see these films, I feel that I've learnt a lot from my unsuccessful films. Those are my biggest learnings," Aamir said.

"My failures have taught me as much as my successful films, and they are equally special to me," the 48-year-old said at the India Today Group's Agenda Aaj Tak Conclave.

Aamir, who dabbles in films of different kinds, says he undergoes just one pressure when he signs a project - and it has nothing to do with numbers.

"I feel that whoever buys a ticket to my film, doesn't go back feeling that it was a waste. The audience should feel entertained. That's all. I don't get into numbers. It has to touch hearts what money it makes, that doesn't matter to me," Aamir said and explained how he remembers his favourite movies 'Pyaasa' and 'Mughal-e-Azam' for their craft and not for how much money they made.

But does it upset him when his films don't do commercially well?

"I don't like it if anyone suffers loss," he said.

"I feel upset as I feel people should get their money back from a film, and make at least 10 to 15 percent profit at least. Whether they make Rs. 200 crore or Rs. 400 crore, I am not interested in it. But I like my films to be commercially viable," he said.

On the Bollywood front, Aamir currently awaits the release of 'Dhoom: 3', which stars him as a villain. The much-awaited film, the third in the popular franchise of Yash Raj Films, releases December 20.

Mumbai: Genelia D'Souza, who has been away from the big screen post her marriage to actor Riteish Deshmukh, will be seen in Salman Khan's 'Jai Ho'.

Genelia married Riteish in February 2012 and her last Hindi film was 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya' which came in the same month, and also starred her husband.

She will now be seen in Salman Khan-starrer 'Jai Ho', apparently in a cameo appearance.

"Yes Genelia is there in 'Jai Ho'. She is playing an interesting cameo," sources close to the development told us, without divulging her role.

There is a buzz that Genelia plays the role of Salman's sister in the film.

The film, a remake of the South hit 'Stalin', is directed by Sohail Khan.

Besides Salman, the film stars Tabu, Sana Khan, Ashmit Patel, Sunil Shetty and others, and is scheduled to release on January 24 next year.

Mumbai: Comparisons between 'Bullett Raja' and 'R...Rajkumar' have been doing the rounds ever since the release of the two films was announced on two successive Fridays.

While Saif Ali Khan starrer 'Bullett Raja' came out on November 29, Shahid Kapoor's 'R...Rajkumar' was released on December 6 and none could do wonders at the box office.

The comparisons were drawn due to the similarities like both the films are crime drama with a good dose of romance, the protagonists are ruffians, and the plots are based in the small town. In both films Sonakshi Sinha has played the female lead.

Said the choreographer-director: "I've the highest regard for Tigmanshu Dhulia's work. He's such a brilliant director."

"I really don't see any point of comparison between his film and mine, except Sonakshi who is common to the cast of both films. We are very different filmmakers. And I am sure we've made very different films. His film has its own energy, mine has its own."

Dhulia said: "I don't think I can make films like Prabhu Dheva. His films have a peculiar high-level energy. Many have tried to imitate it. I'd be foolish to even attempt doing something similar."

Mumbai: Amitabh Bachchan has rubbished reports suggesting that he is in talks to star opposite veteran actress Rekha in a YRF film.

According to reports, Aditya Chopra was said to bring Rekha and Bachchan on-screen together again. The two last worked in 1981 hit 'Silsila'.

"I am not doing it. I read it (media report) but there is no truth to it. But if you know anybody there (at YRF) then suggest my name. As today it is difficult to get work," the legendary actor said at a function here.

Earlier, producer Firoz Nadiadwala and director Anees Bazmee were keen to get Bachchan and Rekha together in their upcoming movie 'Welcome Back'. But things did not work out.

Meanwhile, Big B would be seen in a special appearance for Sanjay Dutt Productions' 'Hasmukh Pighal Gaya'. He has performed to the iconic Raj Kapoor song “Kisiki Muskuraahton Pe Ho Nisaar, Kisi Ka Dard Mil Sake...” from the film 'Anari'.

"It is a film for Sanjay Dutt Productions. There is a situation in the film, where the hero of the film sings a song and I get into in that song," he said.

Mumbai: Amitabh Bachchan has rubbished reports suggesting that he is in talks to star opposite veteran actress Rekha in a YRF film.

According to reports, Aditya Chopra was said to bring Rekha and Bachchan on-screen together again. The two last worked in 1981 hit 'Silsila'.

"I am not doing it. I read it (media report) but there is no truth to it. But if you know anybody there (at YRF) then suggest my name. As today it is difficult to get work," the legendary actor said at a function here.

Earlier, producer Firoz Nadiadwala and director Anees Bazmee were keen to get Bachchan and Rekha together in their upcoming movie 'Welcome Back'. But things did not work out.

Meanwhile, Big B would be seen in a special appearance for Sanjay Dutt Productions' 'Hasmukh Pighal Gaya'. He has performed to the iconic Raj Kapoor song “Kisiki Muskuraahton Pe Ho Nisaar, Kisi Ka Dard Mil Sake...” from the film 'Anari'.

"It is a film for Sanjay Dutt Productions. There is a situation in the film, where the hero of the film sings a song and I get into in that song," he said.

Mumbai: Dimple Kapadia says that she likes her actor son-in-law Akshay Kumar in comedy roles.

"I think Akshay is great, he is lovely. We share lovely relationship which I really treasure. He is mad and so am I. We get along very well.

"We have very cool relationship. I like his work. I like him in comedy. He is very good at comedy. I enjoy watching his films," Dimple told us.

The 56-year-old actress said she and Akshay discuss about films and also give feedback on each other's work.

"I do discuss films with him. I discuss what I am doing and he thinks I need to work more. I am not working enough so he keeps telling me that," she added.

Well, it seems Dimple's grandson Aarav is also interested in films and its business.

"Aarav saw the poster of my film 'What the Fish' and he is very excited about the film. He told that me naani (grandmother) I can give you some marketing ideas. That was the biggest compliment," the actress said.

Dimple said she wanted Aarav to see 'Haathi Mere Saathi' in which her late husband Rajesh Khanna had played the lead.

"He (Aarav) discusses everything related to films with me. He has not seen my films but I want him to see 'Haathi Mere Saathi'. I think he will love it. With today's kids you need to make them sit and see the film as kids want to see English serials," she added.
